Articles in Incite Magazine contain a “What You Can Do About It” section because America has been assaulted for too long by manipulative journalism that deflates hope and inspires fear. Citizens have demanded better by creating a media revolution. The means of media production are now in our hands and we must act to use those means to effect positive and productive change.
Our goal must be to collaborate and connect the many voices that are calling for progress. Our goal must be to continue to expose and condemn injustice, but also to focus that outrage and answer the question: “What can I do about it?”
With Incite Magazine, we hope to inspire activism, citizenship, and cooperation. The “What You Can Do About It” sections at the end of articles provide the tools and resources to turn that outrage into action that will help make a difference. In these sections, you can find ways to get involved and fight for progress, including social actions like demonstrations and boycotts; educational events like lectures, films, and teach-ins; sources for further learning; information on relevant organizations; contact information to voice your complaint and demand change; and anything else that will help take opinions and discussions and turn them into pragmatic calls for a better world.
To foster this spirit of activism and collaboration, we need your help to make our “What You Can Do About It” sections and Action Calendar as powerful and effective as possible. Please send anything that can be added to a “What You Can Do About It” section of an article to Editors@InciteMagazine.org. Any events, regardless of location, should be sent to Action@InciteMagazine.org so they can be added to our Action Calendar.
Thank you for working with us to connect, collaborate, and reclaim the media to achieve true progressive change
